Our on-site pool was redone this spring and is ready for you and your family! With lounge chairs surrounding the pool area, you can soak up the sun over the holiday weekend. Once you warm up, take a dip in the pool to cool down. Swimming with the family is a great way to make new memories and enjoy time spent together.

Cast a Line into the Water

Fishing is a big deal at the Lake of the Ozarks. Don't miss your chance to catch the big one. We have a special dock specifically set aside for fishing. With a bench and cleaning station, you can spend an entire day casting a line and waiting for a bite. Fishing is a relaxing way to spend your holiday!

Take a Dive into the Lake

While swimming in the pool is always a good time, you and your family may prefer the freedom of jumping into the lake too! Bring your favorite floaties and enjoy time soaking in the water while you're staying with us.

Schedule a Boat Rental

Our resort has boat rental opportunities, as well. If you want to get out and explore the waters at the Lake of the Ozarks, take advantage of our rentals. We have fishing boats, speed boats, and pontoons ready for you. You can also rent tubing and ski equipment for your family to enjoy. Be sure to book your rental with the main office to reserve your vessel.


While this holiday weekend is the "unofficial" close to summer, there's still plenty of fun to be had at our family-friendly resort at the Lake of the Ozarks. One of the most popular annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks is taking place this weekend! The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the country. It draws attendees from all over the United States, as well as local residents. Although the actual race is this weekend, there are a TON of fun events leading up to race day. Here at Lakewood Resort, we know how much excitement is in the air about this event and want to share the schedule for upcoming Shootout events.

Wednesday - August 23rd

Shootout on the Strip Meet and Greet
Come out to the Bagnell Dam Strip to get an up close and personal with the race boats and meet some of the racers! This event is from 5:00 - 10:00 pm. It's a fun way to spend the evening with friends and family hanging out on The Strip.

Thursday - August 24th 

Make-A-Wish Powerboat Rides
This impactful event takes place at Captain Rons from noon to 4:00 pm. Racers volunteer their time to take area children out for a race on the cool race boats! It's a great event to witness and a fun way to get the Shootout weekend started right.

Poly Lift Poker Run Meet and Greet
Come out to Performance Boat Center from 4:00 - 9:00 pm to register for the poker run and get your distribution packet. There will also be a meet and greet for racing participants if you'd like to chat with the racers.

Friday - August 25th

Poly Lift Poker Run 
This fun all-day event is a great way to get involved and help out local charities. Starting at Captain Ron's and traveling all over the Lake of the Ozarks, you can find more information about the poker run events on www.FunLake.com.

Saturday and Sunday - August 26th & 27th

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout
A vendor and racer village will be set up at Captain Ron's, ready for you to visit. The restaurant will be serving great food and cold drinks all day long! A variety of race classes will speed down the track throughout the day, as well. There will also be live entertainment available after the race concludes on Saturday evening. An awards ceremony will conclude the event on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

Hot Summer Nights

Scheduled for August 11th, you can enjoy the "Muscle Cars & Custom Cars" edition of this monthly summer event at the Lake. Come down to the historic Bagnell Dam Strip to enjoy makes and models of all types for an evening of fun. With a number of local restaurants found along The Strip, you can make an entire evening of your time at Hot Summer Nights.

Fireworks Cruise

Stay after Hot Summer Nights for a fireworks cruise aboard the Celebration II at the Bagnell Dam Strip. On August 11th, the cruise will start boarding at 8:00 pm where you can enjoy a snack and beverage bar. A beautiful sunset will be viewed, as well as a spectacular fireworks display.

Midwest Wine & Brew Fest

Make plans to attend one of mid-Missouri's most anticipated summer festival. Taking place at the Lodge of Four Seasons on August 19th. For samples from Missouri wineries and breweries, as well as local restaurants, you can make an entire afternoon out of this fun festival! Vendors will also have products available for sale, if you find a new beverage you love.

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

With a number of fun events leading up to the main race, the Shootout is a great annual event. Scheduled for August 26th and 27th, this powerboat race brings vendors and spectators from all over. Come out to Captain Ron's Bar & Grill to get in on the excitement the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout has to offer!
